 Library Survey - Win a $50 Book Voucher

The Town of Victoria Park Library is conducting a survey of members to seek feedback about the Library and its services, as well as suggestions for possible improvements. Are You Looking For Ancestors?


Family History Online

Ancestry.com library edition is now available online at Victoria Park Library. Explore your family history through Australian and overseas historical records, including census records, birth, marriage and death records, settler, convict and immigrant lists, directories and newspaper obituaries.  Photos, maps, and historical publications are also available.

This service is only available from the public terminals within the library.

You will need to book an internet session and follow the link from the Library Homepage. Open “Databases" on the left hand side and click on the Ancestry link.

Searching is easy and if you need help you can open the 'Search Tips’ for a brief introduction and tips for effective searching

Intrepica is a play-based literacy resource with more than 10,000 activities online for children of all ages and ability.  Children and parents can select from activities focusing on pre-reading skills, phonics, reading, spelling, vocabulary, grammar and comprehension in a fun, exciting and safe online environment.

To access this database from home you must be a member of a Western Australian public library.

Go to www.slwa.wa.gov.au

Click on How do I find?

Click on Electronic Resources

Go to Databases from Home

Click on Intrepica

You will be taken to the Intrepica login page.  To register your child/children click on 'Free for library users click here'.  Then select from the drop down menu Western Australian Libraries and follow the instructions on the screen.

Once registered a username and password will be sent to your email address.  Your child will now be able to go to the Intrepica log on page, click on 'Student Login' and then type in their username and password to start enjoying games and activities to develop their literacy skills.
