In May each year Libraries throughout Australia celebrate Library and Information Week. Join in the celebrations at Victoria Park Library by attending any of these events.

Meet the Author Amanda Curtin

Amanda Curtin is an experienced writer and book editor who also lectures at Edith Cowan University. Her first novel, The Sinkings, was published in 2008 to great reviews from critics and her award-winning short stories have been widely published in literary journals.
Ever asked yourself where stories come from? Or how writers turn ideas into stories? Amanda will be here to answer those questions.

Book a training session with one of our IT Volunteers. Sessions of up to 45 minutes will be held in the Library at a time that suits you and the volunteer.

About Boys
Better Beginnings Parent’s Workshop
Tuesday 29 May
6:15pm - 7.45pm
Cost: $5.00
Non-refundable fee to be paid within one week of booking .
At times it can be difficult to understand a boy’s behaviour and how to communicate with them. It can be tempting to back away from them, confused by changes you don’t understand. This workshop aims to help you understand boy’s inner world, develop a channel of communication and enjoy interacting with them more.

Read! Anytime Anywhere Anyhow
Victoria Park Library is joining in the fun to get people to Read! Anytime Anywhere Anyhow as part of the National Year of Reading celebration. Visit the library from 1 May to 31 July to see our display of reading material especially selected to discover (or perhaps rediscover) the enjoyment, fun and power of reading.
Are you too busy to read? Do you find some books too long or difficult to read? Try one of the “Quick reads” for something short and sharp.
Read3 - Read 3 books, stories, magazines, comics, anything in 3 months. Start with these Read3 ideas: Read 3 online interactive stories, read about your 3 favourite celebrities, read and share 3 bedtime stories, read recipes from a favourite book or blog. You don’t have to be a great reader-just give it a go.
