The role of Planning Services is:

To encourage a range of appropriate quality development which is visually attractive, sustainable and promotes the Town as the desirable place for residents, businesses and visitors

Services

Planning Services provides the following services in order to deliver the role:

  1. Assess and determine planning applications for the use and development of land.
  2. Provide comment and recommendations on the subdivision of land.
  3. Provide information and advice to Elected Members, stakeholders and the community in relation to planning matters
  4. Review and amend the Town Planning Scheme so it reflects latest views in respect to planning principles and the Town's Objectives.
  5. Ensure land is used and developed in compliance with the provisions of the Town Planning Scheme.
