PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

Our Preschool Program is for children aged from 3 to 6 years old. The student/teacher ratio is set at 4:1  for optimum personal attention and development. Please see the timetable at the right of the page for class times.

Albatross - An introductory program for those with little water experience or who are uneasy about going under water. Graduates of this level will be able to perform an assisted front glide with kick for a short distance and submerge confidently.

Barnacles - For the more confident child who still requires some assistance. Graduates from this class will be able perform an independent front float and glide, open eyes under water and have a basic understanding of freestyle arms.

Coral -  Graduates of this level will be able to kick on their front and back unassisted and show effective freestyle without breathing.  They will be comfortable in any water depth, with supervision, and have a basic understanding of backstroke arms.

Dugong -   Graduates of this level will be able to swim freestyle with breathing as well as backstroke and survival backstroke kick. They will learn beginner diving skills as well as basic deep water safety and survival techniques.

Mermaids - Graduates of this level will be able to swim 5 metres freestyle, backstroke, survival backstroke and have a good understanding of breaststroke kick and dolphin kick.  They will progress further with diving skills as well as deep water safety and survival techniques.

Pirate - Graduates from this level will be able to swim freestyle, backstroke, survival backstroke, breaststroke and will attempt butterfly.
