Parks : Nomination for Significant Tree Register

NOMINATION FORM FOR CONSIDERATION OF INCLUSION OF A TREE(S) FOR THE SIGNIFICANT TREE REGISTER

Council's current policy provides protection for all of the Town's street trees. With similar protection for tree on parklands, the significant tree register is aimed at achieving recognition of other trees within the Town.

Trees on the significant tree register have been assessed using specific criteria for their significance, as opposed to some trees being called significant just by their presence. New significant trees that meet some or all of the following criteria will be added at the next biannual review (June 2003):

  • Aesthetic quality
  • Particularly old or venerable
  • Commemorating, or having associations with, an important historical event
  • Associated with a well-known public figure or ethnic group, or providing a significant contribution to the landscape.
  • Rare species
  • Having horticultural or genetic value

Please print and fill in the details below for any identified tree that you believe has the potential to meet criteria for future consideration by the Town. Your contact details are essential prior to consideration of any tree(s) nominated.
