G.O. Edwards Park
G.O. Edwards Park is centrally located in Burswood on Great Eastern Highway directly opposite Bolton Avenue. The Park is accessible via the Burswood Road car park which has accessible parking with another car park located at Hawthorne Place. G O Edwards Park was named after Mr George Oswald (Ossie) Edwards who was the City of Perth, Town Clerk between January 1966 to October 1981. Ossie was responsible for the development and beautification of Heirisson and Burswood Island as a garden gateway to the City and recreation areas for the people of Perth, with the majority of the work at the park beingcarried out by volunteers. G O Edwards Park now provides a beautiful green entry to the Town of Victoria Park and is home to the Town's Heritage Circle which celebrates the Town's unique Indigenous and settlement history. Facilities at the park include plenty of shade, ornamental lake with plenty of birdlife, gazebo, barbeques, public toilet, a children's playground, and an accessible pathway around the park and to the gazebo and Heritage Circle. The park is a beautiful venue for outdoor functions, and the perfect setting for weddings, naming ceremonies, and family gatherings. To make a booking for the gazebo please call the Town on 9311 8111 or emailadmin@vicpark.wa.gov.au
