State Cat Control Legislation (Department of Local Government) Open for Public Comment: 30 July 2010 The proposed legislation aims to reduce the thousands of cats euthanised each year and to limit the impact of stray cats on the community and environment through: · Compulsory identification through micro-chipping; · Compulsory registration; and · Compulsory sterilisation.
